For Hilary Godwin, science is about more than facts. It’s about discovery, the challenge of the unknown and, most of all, excitement.

Godwin studies the mystery of what makes lead act as a poison when it gets inside a person's body, especially if that person is young. In doing so, she hopes to explain how lead exposure can contribute to health problems such as learning delays in children.
