Student Awards
Blue Ridge Community College: Two former Bridges to the Baccalaureate program participants have been chosen to receive full scholarships to complete the last 2 years of their baccalaureate degrees at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Nathan Jones and Zambda Lumbi were awarded scholarships by James Madison's Centennial Scholars Program, which seeks to increase diversity at the university.

California State University, Dominguez Hills: MARC undergraduate student Kandia Hill received Sigma Xi membership and an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award from the university. The following MBRS participants received awards: Teresa Ramirez received the CSUDH Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award and the Cesar E. Chavez Aguila Negra Award for Student Leadership; Susana Rodriguez received Sigma Xi's Outstanding Student Research Award; Shaunte Gray received the CSUDH Cain University Scholarship for 2004-5 and a Graduate Equity Fellowship for 2004-2005; Sachin Singh received the Sigma Xi Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for 2004; and Sonia Romero received the CSUDH Sigma Xi Outstanding Student Research Award for 2004.

In addition to a set of publications on chemistry, genetics, structural biology, and pharmacology,the Institute produces the feature publication Findings, which highlights the research of selected NIGMS-funded scientists. In this publication, students can also read about recent, clinically relevant NIGMS-funded research studies and solve a crossword puzzle containing words used in the stories.
